25 Ottobre 2017
FICPI is pleased to announce the Working Programme for its upcoming 17th Open Forum, to be held in the spectacular location of Venice, Italy on 25-28 October 2017, open to all FICPI members, non-members and colleagues from Industry.
FICPI’s Open Forum is renowned for the quality of its working sessions and speakers. The 17th Open Forum will follow the usual three-stream format, with specialised sessions on patents, trade marks and IP practice management for the independent professional and private firm.
After a welcome reception on 25 October 2017 at the 5***** Molino Stucky Hotel on the Giudecca, offering attendees the chance to mingle with old and new friends from around the world, with views across the Canal of the same name, the Forum will begin on the 26th with a plenary session that will examine the benefits of using Mediation to settle IP disputes, including a mock mediation. Following break-out sessions will cover a huge array of practical topics relevant to the busy IP professional from avoiding self-collision in patents, border controls to prevent piracy and counterfeiting and everything you need to know about priority rights to time management in the face of the email deluge, finding (and keeping!) the right people for your firm and how to make decisions within a partnership. Special topics to be covered will include online platforms and why clients still need their IP attorney and how to deal with the manufacture of infringing products by modern 3D printing techniques.
The Working Programme for the 17th FICPI Open Forum promises something for every practitioner, while allowing ample opportunity to network with leading IP professionals and offering social events in spectacular venues across La Serenissima, the City of Masks, Bridges and Water.
